Oversize engineered smoked stain parquet in Harborne

The brief on this Harborne project was to supply and install a large format engineered parquet flooring, with the look of a raw unfinished oak.

There were a number of challenges on the project that needed to be overcome.

The parquet was to be installed to a hallway, large kitchen/diner and lounge running off the hallway and meeting back up halfway up the dining room.

The hallway required some smoothing and levelling works to ramp up to the height of the existing kitchen, and the same was required in the dining room, which had been formed with a new extension joining up with the existing kitchen.

We applied damp proof membranes, moisture tolerant smoothing compound where required, and more economical deep fill screeds mixed with granite chipping in the large dining room area.

After the prep was finished, we had a surface ready to accept a new herringbone flooring, and then whole preparation works and install was finished within a week.

A project such as this required specialist knowledge, skill, and the equipment to test and prepare sub-floor in the correct manner.
