Solid parquet flooring sanded and sealed with border

Mazon Flooring were very pleased to be entrusted with the installation of a solid oak parquet flooring project for a client in the Cotswolds. The client was looking for a high end level of workmanship and finish, typified with a two plank border around the permitter of the rooms.

We started the project by applying a paint on damp proof membrane and a 3mm smoothing compound, to ensure a smooth flat floor fully protected from construction moisture. Once all the preparation work had been completed, the process of fitting the herringbone wood main field commenced, and we finalised the installation by cutting out the space for and installing the two plank wood border.

Once all of the parquet flooring and border had been installed the finished floor was sanded using a Bona Flexisander and had two coats of finishing oil applied to give a natural texture and matt finish.

The finished results are a testament to the hard work, skill and quality of the parquet wood flooring, and offer a real wow factor to the property.
