Supply and installation of Quickstep Impressive IM1849 Classic Oak Brown with substaintial sub-floor preparation work

The flooring works were undertaken as part of an extension and renovation project at the property. There was a mix of sub-floors and a number of areas where the sub-floor dipped, sloped and peaked between the areas. We undertook a process of using a concrete grinding disk to lower high points, and then a mixture of moisture tolerant smoothing compound and aggregate chippings to fill some significant low points. In addition, we also installed 6mm ply board over some areas of existing floorboards, and a final coat of smoothing compound over any dipped areas in the wooden sub-floor.

Once the preparation work was complete, we were then able to complete the installation throughout the ground floor of the beautiful Quickstep impressive classic oak brown. The floor has the look and feel of an aged engineered oak floor, with added durability of a high grade laminate floor.

The key to the success of this job was the prep work, once that was completed to the correct specification, the floor installation was easy for us in comparison.
Many mistakes are made when considering the preparation requirements for laminate flooring, and the flooring can fail due to inadequate preparation. A good quality laminate floor, with a well prepared sub-floor will last a great number of years, and can be the ideal solution for a busy home.

Alex was great throughout the entire process of picking and fitting a floor for our entire downstairs. He was really helpful and advised based on our style choices and budget. Really thorough job and great service. Would highly recommend.
