Herringbone oak flooring to Legna restaurant Birmingham

Mazon Flooring were pleased to be selected as the flooring contractor for a new restaurant opening in central Birmingham. The interior designer on the project and restaurant owner had decided on a herringbone engineered wood floor in a dark and classy shade.
Before starting to install the herringbone engineered wood flooring, we had to deal with the preparation of the sub-floor, as the screed supplier had used a pumped anhydrite screed to encapsulate underfloor heating pipes. The preparation of anhydrite screed requires the removal of a layer on the top called the laitence, which is a weaker material and inhibits the drying time of the screed and the application of floor finishes. We removed 2-3mm from the top surface and applied a suitable moisture protection system and primer to aid the adhesive of the wood flooring to the sub-floor
Once all completed, we commenced the positional setting out of the herringbone boards, and carefully proceeded with the installation throughout the seating and bar are of the restaurant. As part of the contract, we also installed a matching engineered plank floor to the main restaurant stair case along with commercial grade stair nosings.
Taking on a project of this scale and value requires a flooring contractor with experience of dealing with commercial installation and working with multiple contractors on site. Mazon Flooring have worked on many commercial floor projects and are able to undertake them using a quality team of installers, who understand how to complete a project on time whilst maintaining high finishing standards. If you have a commercial flooring project you need assistance with, contact Mazon Flooring or arrange an appointment at our showroom.
