Invictus Highland Oak Classic to a renovation job in Kenilworth

Mazon Flooring were asked by one of our building firm partners Pro Build 360 to provide a flooring solution for one of their valued clients.

The brief was to provide a durable and design focused floor that would run through the majority of the ground floor of the house, including a new extension to the kitchen. We were also asked to refit some carpets that had been uplifted during the building work to protect them from damage.

Mazon Flooring liaised with the client and interior design team at pro Build 360 to pick out a floor that would work perfectly with the kitchen design, whilst also being practical for family living. The product chosen was the Invictus Highland Oak Classic luxury vinyl parquet, one of the most popular colours due to it’s ability to match with a wide variety of interior decors and styles. The Highland Oak Classic colour has a good amount of variation in the boards and reflects the varied nature of a natural oak parquet floor.

We then moved on to the installation process, starting with the uplift of the existing LVT flooring that was in parts of the building. Once all uplifted, we proceeded to apply a surface damp proof membrane to the new extension areas and then worked on bringing up the levels in a few of the new and existing areas where there we dips and low points in the sub-floor. The new kitchen had already been installed, and due to the type of design and plinth being used, we had some make sure that our sub-floor was smoothed and levelled to a higher tolerance than usually required.

Once all the floor had been smoothed, lightly sanded and feather finish applied where required, we proceeded with the complex process of setting out the herringbone pattern to check positioning with the key features, such as the kitchen, hallway and staircase. Once all positioned and checked, the team worked tirelessly to complete the installation to the agreed schedule and to a high standard.

The finished results are outstanding and works with the flow of the property to give a level of grandeur combined with comfort.
